We stayed in the Orange Apartment (a couple + single) for 2 nights as part of a self-guided cycling tour. Our friends (another couple) stayed in the Blue Studio. The standard of finish in these fully self-contained apartments is second to none – quality appliances, tasteful furnishings, brilliant beds & linen, great storage (we’ve never seen so many coat hangers). Your hosts, John & Lynne, are passionate & knowledgeable about Mapua & the Moutere Hills area. The apartments are well-located with a supermarket & bakery almost across the road and Mapua Wharf (for wining & dining) only a short stroll away. We made great use of the outdoor patio (for pre-dinner drinks & nibblies) & there was lock-up storage for our bikes. The laundry was shared but each apartment is equipped with its own laundry basket & pegs. Really, there is nothing that John & Lynne have not thought of to make your stay easy & enjoyable. Highly recommended.
“Mapua Magic” is a TripAdvisor review by Tracy and Adrien, from Oz (“Oz” is the affectionate name Kiwi’s give to their Australian neighbors ). Tracy, Adrien, George, Greg and Carol travelled together on slightly extended customized tour organized by Glen, Andrew, and Sean of Trail Journeys Nelson November 2016. The customization meant 2 nights with us in Mapua – rather than the standard 1 night stand 🙂 I think the highlights of their trip were the day spent walking and boating in the Abel Tasman park and the day cycling the wineries in Upper Moutere (where they got hooked on riding e-bikes in the rolling hill terrain)
